What is PMD?
Perinatal or Postpartum Mood Disorders (PMD) include:
· Depression
· Anxiety,
· PTSD, and
· Postpartum Psychosis
PMD can develop anytime during pregnancy or in the first year or after the birth of a baby.
Recent research has estimated that approximately 10% of fathers also experience postpartum depression.
When a partner has PMD, fathers are at much higher risk.
